The update was shared on April 29, 2026, via his official page after a Basic Education Bootcamp held in Jos, Plateau State.

According to the minister, the forum focused on expanding access to foundational education and closing persistent gaps that have left millions of children outside the school system.

He explained that ongoing reforms under the current administration are targeting critical areas such as teacher quality, girl-child education, science and technical learning, as well as vocational and skills development.

The reforms, driven through the National Education Sector Reform Initiative, also incorporate data-driven planning and digital tools to improve efficiency and service delivery in the education sector.

Alausa added that alternative learning approaches, including digital platforms and open schooling systems, are being expanded to reach children who cannot access traditional classrooms.

He further noted that collaboration with development partners and stakeholders has played a key role in recent progress, especially in bringing out-of-school children back into learning environments.

The minister also revealed plans to relaunch the National School Feeding Programme, describing it as a key intervention to boost school enrolment and retention. The programme is expected to restart in six pilot states.

While commending the Plateau State Government for its support, he reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to improving both access and quality in basic education nationwide.
