Petrol prices have declined to about ₦1,295 per litre in parts of Abuja and surrounding areas, as filling stations reduce rates to attract more customers.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Findings on Friday showed that several outlets cut pump prices from ₦1,330 to ₦1,295 per litre, marking a ₦35 drop.

Stations such as AA Rano, Ranoil, and Mobil have already implemented the new pricing across various locations within the Federal Capital Territory.

The adjustment aligns their rates with other major operators in the downstream sector, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), MRS, AP Ardova, and NIPCO, which have been selling petrol between ₦1,290 and ₦1,295 in recent weeks.

Commenting on the development, the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Maigandi, attributed the price reduction to market competition, noting that it was aimed at increasing customer patronage.

Despite fluctuations in global crude oil prices, fuel costs in Nigeria have remained relatively stable since April 9, 2026.

Market data on Friday indicated that West Texas Intermediate crude was priced at $94 per barrel, while Brent crude traded at $105 per barrel, amid ongoing uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, findings also revealed that petrol is sold at lower prices in Ilorin, where some filling stations dispense fuel at between ₦1,250 and ₦1,270 per litre.
