They also called on the electoral body to avoid acting on correspondence, pending motions, or processes lacking clear judicial backing, stressing the need for strict neutrality in internal party affairs.

The youths voiced worries over recent developments linked to INEC’s handling of the party’s leadership, warning that such actions could hinder preparations for the ADC’s upcoming national convention and cast doubt on the commission’s impartiality.

They further cautioned that failure to respond to their demands could lead to more lawful civic actions nationwide.

Responding on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, the Administrative Secretary of INEC in Katsina, Ibrahim Dari, assured the group that their petition would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for review.

According to him, this kind of alliance reflects a healthy democratic process and should be encouraged.

However, he urged that the movement maintain transparency in its operations, particularly in the area of funding. He noted that with coordinators already appointed across states, zones, and the national level, accountability should be prioritised.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said his recent visit to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed was aimed at promoting national unity.
