In a statement released on Friday by its spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the group expressed confidence in the Supreme Court’s independence and integrity but emphasized the need for a prompt resolution due to the urgency of the matter.
The statement noted that the case has placed the party in a time-sensitive situation, given that electoral activities are governed by strict deadlines.
According to the movement, “the current situation has placed our party in a race against time,” adding that uncertainty around the case limits the party’s ability to organise, mobilise, and participate effectively in the political space.
The group urged the apex court to consider not only the legal arguments but also the urgency and wider implications of the matter for democratic participation and national stability.
It further stated that justice must be both fair and timely, especially in cases that directly affect the political process and governance structure.
The Kwankwasiyya Movement expressed confidence that the court would act in a way that safeguards both judicial integrity and Nigeria’s multiparty democracy.
It also called on its members and supporters to remain calm, patient, and united while awaiting the outcome of the legal process.
Reaffirming its position, the group said it believes justice will ultimately be delivered in a fair and timely manner in the best interest of the country.

“We have been hearing reports that we have stopped the process; that is not correct. It is misinformation. We are still on it. He cannot continue as our Speaker.
“Although Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been speaking with some of us, that does not stop the impeachment process. There is no going back.”
This political deadlock follows a volatile incident on Thursday when suspected thugs from the embattled Speaker’s home constituency of Ondo town invaded the Assembly complex.
