Yusuf made the announcement on Saturday during the unveiling of his political ambition and manifesto held at the LGEA Osisi Primary School Field in Kogi State.

Speaking to APC members and supporters, he said his decision was driven by a commitment to effective representation and bringing development closer to the people.

He pledged to work with stakeholders to attract projects and improve the welfare of constituents, adding that his vision is a constituency with a stronger voice, empowered youths, supported women, and full dividends of democracy.

According to him, his aspiration is based not just on promises but on experience, dedication, and public service record.

Yusuf also said his ambition would help consolidate the development efforts of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo within the constituency, stressing the need for continuity and stronger representation at the National Assembly.

He noted that his years in public service, including his role as Senior Special Assistant on Solid Minerals and later Commissioner for Works, have prepared him for the task ahead.

He resigned from office in March in line with electoral guidelines requiring public office holders seeking elective positions to step down before contesting.

Following his resignation, Ozigi Salami Deedat has been appointed as the new Commissioner for Works in Kogi State.

Stakeholders at the event reportedly endorsed his candidacy and pledged support ahead of the 2027 polls.
