The ruling was delivered on Wednesday in a suit challenging his emergence as the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming poll.

Recall that Oyebanji had earlier emerged as the APC governorship candidate ahead of the June 20, 2026 election after being the sole contender in the exercise.

He was unanimously endorsed by 885 delegates drawn from all 177 wards across Ekiti State, in line with the party’s guidelines and provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

His emergence followed the withdrawal of Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo and the disqualification of Kayode Ojo and Abimbola Olajumoke, who failed to meet required party conditions.

Omolayo had earlier stepped down during the primary at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, citing Oyebanji’s performance and continuity of development projects as her reason.

The APC later confirmed Oyebanji as its consensus candidate for the governorship race.

He added that the APC remains confident in Oyebanji’s leadership ahead of the 2026 election.
