Supreme Court Set To Hear Mark’s Appeal In ADC Leadership Battle.

The appeal is part of ongoing legal disputes arising from a deepening leadership crisis that has split the party into rival factions laying claim to its national structure.
In the suit filed through his counsel, Rilwan Okpanachi, Mark is seeking an order staying the execution of a Court of Appeal judgment delivered on March 12.
He is also asking the apex court to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from making any changes to the party’s current leadership structure until the case is resolved.
Additionally, Mark is seeking to halt further proceedings in a related matter before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The legal battle stems from a ruling delivered on September 4, 2025, by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court following an ex parte application filed by Bala.
The ADC has been embroiled in a prolonged leadership crisis, with opposing factions holding competing claims and engaging in multiple court cases over control of the party.
Tensions escalated after INEC reportedly removed Mark’s name as national chairman from its records, prompting protests from his faction, which included several prominent political figures.
A rival faction led by Nafiu Bala also staged a counter-protest, demanding recognition from the electoral body.
The Supreme Court’s ruling is expected to be crucial in determining the direction of the ongoing leadership dispute within the party.
