Political Editor at Arise News, Sumner Sambo, has expressed doubt over President Bola Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 election, warning that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may be overconfident in its current political strategy.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on The Morning Show on Monday, Sambo described Tinubu’s 2023 victory as a “narrow escape,” noting that the results reflected a highly competitive contest.

He said it would be poor political judgment for the APC to assume an easy win in 2027, adding that the party appears to be over-strategizing and pushing its advantage too far.

Sambo referenced the strong performances of opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso in the last election, saying their combined support shows how tight the race was.

According to him, APC’s current political direction may have unintentionally encouraged opposition forces to close ranks and consider a broader alliance.

He argued that instead of expecting a comfortable victory, the ruling party should be cautious, warning that the emerging opposition unity could pose a serious challenge in 2027.
