Kano Federal Lawmaker, Danjuma, Dies In Office.

His death, which occurred on Friday evening, was confirmed by House spokesperson Akin Rotimi, who described it as a great loss to the National Assembly and the country.

Rotimi noted that the late lawmaker made significant contributions to legislative development over the years, adding that his passing was deeply felt by colleagues and constituents.

Hassan, elected in 2023 under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), served as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary.

He was widely regarded as an experienced legislative counsel and legal draftsman, with several laws credited to his input.

According to Rotimi, his contributions played a key role in strengthening legislative and constitutional processes in Nigeria.

Before joining partisan politics, Hassan had a long career in the National Assembly bureaucracy, where he rose to the position of Permanent Secretary, bringing extensive administrative experience to his role as a lawmaker.

During his time in the House, he served on several committees, including Public Petitions, Aviation, Solid Minerals, Constitution Review, and Treaties, Protocols and Agreements.

Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, has extended condolences to his family, constituents, and the people of Kano State.

Hassan is expected to be buried on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
