Enugu APC Chieftain, Ambassador Eze, Explains Why He Quit Party

Published

on

Former APC senatorial candidate in Enugu North, Ambassador Ejike Eze, has revealed that his exit from the party was driven by lack of collaboration from party leadership and an unfair reward system.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Eze, a former diplomat and ex-Senior Special Assistant to former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Protocols and Security, accused APC of internal disunity in Enugu State and failing to uphold democratic practices. He disclosed this to journalists in Enugu on Wednesday, adding that his participation in the party brought him no benefits.

“I did not see fairness, justice, or equity in the distribution of dividends of democracy in the party,” Eze said.

He alleged that after Governor Peter Mbah joined APC, new defectors from the PDP sidelined longtime members, claiming all key executive positions at ward, local government, and state levels, leaving dedicated party loyalists like him excluded.

Eze had formally resigned from APC on March 30, 2026, citing “undemocratic and unacceptable” practices within the party. In his resignation letter, he affirmed his continued commitment to democratic principles and the welfare of his people.

He also criticized the marginalization of Enugu North Senatorial District in state politics, arguing that despite the region’s population advantage, its people are often sidelined. He cited the misallocation of the Deputy National Chairman, South position as an example, which he said should belong to Enugu North but was given to another zone.

Eze further condemned poor communication between party leaders and the electorate, stressing that democracy requires an open flow of information. He lamented that even at his level, after 33 years of service, he could not easily reach top leaders in the state APC structure, questioning how ordinary citizens could access them.

He emphasized that Enugu North has “come of age” politically and warned that future elections must respect the voice of the people. “Stakeholders, including political, religious, traditional leaders, and the people at large, must decide who represents us in elective positions,” he said.

Eze vowed that in the 2027 elections, any form of candidate imposition or election manipulation in Enugu North, especially in Nsukka, will not be tolerated. He urged leaders to engage with the people fairly and ensure equitable distribution of political opportunities.

Momodu Defends Atiku Amid Age Criticism Ahead Of 2027 Presidential Contest.

Published

ADC chieftain and publisher, Dele Momodu, has dismissed calls for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race, describing the push as unfair and politically motivated.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Momodu was reacting to comments by activist Zekeri Idris Jnr, a supporter of Peter Obi, who urged Atiku to step aside over concerns about his age, which would be about 80 by 2027.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Momodu said attention should be focused on holding the government accountable rather than targeting Atiku’s political ambition.

The exchange followed a viral video where Idris insisted that Atiku should support younger aspirants instead of contesting, arguing that voters would not back an elderly candidate.

Idris also suggested that Atiku should act as a statesman and support younger politicians such as Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and others.

Responding, Momodu cited several world leaders who held office at advanced ages, arguing that experience should not be dismissed in leadership discussions.

He questioned what should disqualify Atiku from contesting, insisting that age alone is not a valid reason.

Atiku, who lost the 2023 presidential election to President Bola Tinubu, is reportedly considering another run in 2027 under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
