Breaking: APC Leader Dies Suddenly In Abuja Hotel.
Details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Abdulsalami Ginsau, the Assistant Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, who reportedly died at Chida Hotels under controversial circumstances.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Ginsau, a lawyer and key party figure, allegedly died on Friday, March 27, after being trapped in a malfunctioning elevator at the hotel in Utako, Abuja.
The Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, explained that Ginsau had travelled to Abuja ahead of the party’s convention to coordinate accommodation for delegates from Kano. He successfully arranged lodging before checking in himself.
Concerns arose when Ginsau could not be located during the convention, prompting a search across the Federal Capital Territory. The party delegation reported the incident at the Utako Police Division, where the deceased was identified. Doguwa attributed the tragedy to alleged negligence by the hotel management, noting that some delegates had previously raised concerns about the faulty lift.
Police confirmed that the incident is under investigation, including an ongoing autopsy. Chida Hotels management declined to comment, citing the ongoing police inquiry.
A source within the hotel revealed that while 150 rooms had been booked for APC delegates, over 1,000 attendees eventually arrived, overloading the hotel’s facilities. Ginsau, staying on the third floor, reportedly entered the faulty elevator early on Friday. The elevator malfunction went unnoticed until the following day when a strong odor prompted a search that led to the discovery of his remains.
The Kano State APC has called for a thorough investigation. State secretary Auwal Soja Sani Mainagge described the death as shocking and confirmed a committee has been set up to work with security agencies. Governor Umar Ganduje also reached out to the family to ensure full investigation.
A family guardian, Hamza Haladu, described the news as devastating, noting that Ginsau was healthy and energetic when he travelled. Ginsau’s burial is scheduled for Thursday in Kano, following Islamic rites.
Ginsau was a respected lawyer, corporate executive, and political figure. He served as CEO of Ginsau & Sons and practised law with Ginsau & Co. Advocates, with expertise in corporate, commercial, property, tax, and intellectual property law. He was also an alumnus of the Islamic University in Uganda and the Nigerian Law School, Abuja. Within the APC, he was influential in party organisation and governance.
He is survived by two wives and two children.
