Honourable Alhaji Auwal Ibrahim Sansani, Special Assistant on Small Town Water Supply to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, has resigned to pursue an elective position as political activities ramp up ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a letter dated March 25, 2026, addressed to the governor via the Secretary to the State Government, Sansani expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and praised the governor for his trust. He also highlighted his contributions to improving water supply in small communities and acknowledged the support of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during his tenure.

While he did not disclose the office he intends to contest, analysts say the resignation signals early political positioning for the upcoming elections.

Before his appointment, Sansani held several political roles in Jigawa State and serves as National President of the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum, mobilising support for President Tinubu across the nineteen northern states.

As of now, the Jigawa State Government has not issued an official statement on his resignation. Observers anticipate more political appointees may step down in the coming months as the APC prepares for primaries and the 2027 polls.
