ADC Not A Launchpad For Atiku, Amaechi, Peter Obi – Bolaji Abdullahi.

Published

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims that it is backing any specific political figure, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, or Rotimi Amaechi, ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The party reiterated that its platform is open to all interested aspirants.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, rejected suggestions that the party is being used as a vehicle for any particular contender.

He said, “We will not be blackmailed into taking an early position. Zoning is under consideration, and strategic discussions are ongoing, but I cannot disclose specifics at this time.”

Abdullahi clarified that no aspirant has been endorsed, including Obi, Amaechi, or any other potential candidate. “This is no more about Atiku Abubakar than it is about Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, or anyone else seeking to run under our platform,” he added.

He emphasized that the party’s focus is on building an inclusive political movement rather than advancing individual ambitions, noting that internal consultations, including zoning decisions, are still underway.

According to Abdullahi, the ADC will announce major decisions at the appropriate time and will not rush matters requiring careful stakeholder agreement.

He also called on opposition parties to unite, warning that disunity could give the ruling party an advantage and weaken democratic competition ahead of the 2027 elections.
