In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Elumelu for his remarkable contributions to business growth and enterprise development in Nigeria and across Africa.

Tinubu highlighted Elumelu’s leadership roles as Chairman of United Bank for Africa and founder of Heirs Holdings and Transcorp, noting that he has been a steadfast advocate for entrepreneurship and private sector-led development on the continent.

The President also praised Elumelu’s commitment to excellence and his promotion of Africapitalism, an economic philosophy encouraging long-term private sector investment to drive sustainable development.

He underscored the impact of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, particularly its entrepreneurship program, which has trained about 2.5 million young Africans across 54 countries and provided over 24,000 entrepreneurs with $5,000 in seed funding each.

Tinubu wished Elumelu continued good health, strength, and even greater achievements as he marks the milestone.

“As Elumelu celebrates this special day, the President joins his family and friends in wishing him good health, strength, and continued success in all his endeavors,” the statement read.
