Ndume Warns: Terrorists Are Now Using Keke To Deliver Bombs.
Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South has raised fresh alarms over the evolving tactics of terrorists and bandits in Nigeria, warning that their operations are becoming increasingly organized and dangerous.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Ndume explained that these criminal groups now rely heavily on local informants and unconventional delivery methods to carry out attacks.
According to the lawmaker, insurgents frequently employ “hit-and-run” tactics, coordinating movements and gathering intelligence within communities before striking.
“What they do is hit and run. They gather, share information among themselves, and most dangerously, they get information from some citizens. They have informants within society,” he said.
Ndume also revealed that recent attacks have involved the use of commercial tricycles (Keke Napep) to transport explosives to targeted locations.
“You can imagine—the bomb that exploded was delivered by a Keke Napep. They package it and hand it over to people on these tricycles to deliver to specific spots,” he explained.
The senator noted that he understands the operational patterns of these groups, which constantly seek ways to infiltrate communities, carry out attacks, and escape undetected.
“I understand their mode of operation—moving around, finding ways to carry out their activities, and then escaping,” he said.
Ndume attributed the worsening security situation to insufficient intelligence gathering, stressing the need for stronger surveillance and information networks.
He also expressed concern over the audacity of some terrorists, noting that they now record and share their attacks on social media platforms.
“You can imagine bandits and terrorists in Nigeria having the audacity to record their atrocities on TikTok and distribute it,” he added.
