Members of the delegation included the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Sulaiman Wali Sani. The spokesperson noted that the meeting occurred shortly after the Iftar gathering at the Emir’s palace.

The development comes at a sensitive period as Kano State prepares for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, particularly the traditional Sallah Durbar, a historic cultural procession that draws widespread attention. However, uncertainty continues to surround the event due to mixed signals from government officials regarding whether it will take place this year.

The confusion is linked to the lingering legal battle between Muhammadu Sanusi II and Aminu Ado Bayero over the emirship position. Although Governor Yusuf reinstated Sanusi II in 2024, Bayero has continued to challenge his removal in court, leaving the traditional institution entangled in legal and political uncertainty.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
