“Sadio Mané Slams CAF After Senegal Loses AFCON 2025 Title!”.
Senegalese forward Sadio Mané has criticized the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following its controversial ruling on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). According to reports, CAF on Tuesday stripped Senegal of the AFCON title and awarded it to Morocco after a review of the tournament final.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The CAF Appeal Board nullified Senegal’s victory in the January final, ruling that the team forfeited the match after walking off the pitch during a chaotic conclusion. The board subsequently awarded Morocco a 3-0 walkover victory, officially naming them African champions.
Mané took to Instagram to express his frustration, accusing football authorities of corruption and unfair practices. “What has happened here goes too far. This is not the football we fight for, nor the Africa we believe in,” he wrote. “There is too much corruption in our sport, and that is killing the passion of millions of fans across the continent. The players give their all on the pitch, but decisions off the pitch determine the outcome of matches and titles.”
The Senegal Football Federation has rejected CAF’s ruling and announced plans to appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
