“Sowore Shocks Nation: Peter Obi and Gov. Bala Mohammed Aren’t Opposition Politicians!”.

Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has dismissed claims that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed are opposition figures.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During an interview in Abuja on the reported defection of Governor Mohammed, Sowore argued that the Bauchi State leader has always been part of the entrenched political establishment and cannot be classified as opposition. He criticized Mohammed’s tenure as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), saying it was riddled with corruption and even worse than that of the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Sowore further asserted that there is no meaningful difference among the All Progressives Congress (APC), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing them all as extensions of the same political elite.

He stated, “Bala Mohammed was never an opposition person. How can you call Bala Mohammed, who is a thief like Tinubu, like Wike, the opposition? How can thieves oppose thieves? It is not possible. That is why I could never have joined them. The APC, ADC, and PDP are just different labels for the same thing.”

On Peter Obi, Sowore rejected claims that he represents a genuine alternative political force, noting that Obi’s alliances with members of the ADC contradict his previous criticisms. He accused Obi of misleading supporters during the 2023 elections.

Sowore added, “Peter Obi is considered opposition according to you, but he opposes nothing, nobody, because we know him. If he were truly opposition, he would never be in a party sponsored by Abubakar Malami, with Nasir El-Rufai as a member, and surrounded by people he once called a ‘structure of criminality.’ Peter Obi packaged himself, deceived the public, and made them fall for it. People should apologise to those of us who warned them since 2022 that he was misleading them.”

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
