Premier League Drama: Man United Beat Villa, Fulham & Leeds Drop Points.

Manchester United F.C. boosted their hopes of securing a Champions League spot after defeating Aston Villa F.C. 3-1 at Old Trafford, while Fulham F.C. and Leeds United F.C. were forced to settle for draws in other Premier League fixtures.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

United finally broke the deadlock in the second half after a cagey opening period. Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez initially kept his side level by stopping Bryan Mbeumo, but from the resulting corner, Bruno Fernandes delivered a precise cross that Casemiro flicked over the keeper and into the net.

Villa responded swiftly through Ross Barkley, who marked his first Premier League start in 14 months with a quick finish to restore parity. However, United soon regained the lead when Fernandes set up Matheus Cunha, whose low strike beat Martínez. Substitute Benjamin Šeško later sealed the victory with a deflected effort, taking his tally to eight goals in ten matches.

The result keeps United in third place and gives interim manager Michael Carrick a sixth straight home win — a start bettered only by Sven-Göran Eriksson, Carlo Ancelotti and Manuel Pellegrini during their early Premier League spells. Meanwhile, Villa have now managed just three wins in their last 12 league outings, increasing the pressure in the battle for European qualification.

In another fixture, Crystal Palace F.C. were held to a goalless draw by 10-man Leeds United at Selhurst Park. Leeds were reduced to ten players in the first half after Gabriel Gudmundsson was sent off, forcing them to defend deep after missing a penalty. Palace failed to convert several second-half opportunities created by Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest F.C. and Fulham also played out a 0-0 draw. Forest dominated much of the second half but could not find a breakthrough, with Taiwo Awoniyi and Neco Williams both missing chances, while Fulham held firm to claim a point. ⚽

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.

The legal notice maintained that the allegations were baseless and intended to damage the reputations of the two entertainers.
