The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has cautioned that prolonged hostilities involving Iran, Israel, and the United States could escalate global instability and deepen economic hardships worldwide.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Oba Akanbi also urged Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, to prioritise peace and diplomatic engagement amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement personally signed on Monday, the traditional ruler congratulated Khamenei on assuming leadership at a critical moment for the international community. He stressed that the new Supreme Leader’s decisions could have far-reaching impacts on global peace and stability.

“Your leadership will either contribute to global peace or exacerbate unrest,” Oba Akanbi said, highlighting the fragile state of international relations in the region.

Reflecting on the recent passing of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he noted that the event has intensified regional tensions. “The world is in pain. The Middle East is bleeding. The repercussions of the former Supreme Leader’s death cannot be forgotten quickly,” he stated.

The Oluwo warned that ongoing conflicts are already straining the global economy, with rising fuel prices and soaring living costs putting immense pressure on vulnerable populations. “The economy is struggling. Everyday people are finding it harder to feed their families, and fuel prices are skyrocketing,” he added.

He called on Iran’s leadership to pursue dialogue and reconciliation as a means to reduce tensions and alleviate civilian suffering. “Choosing dialogue is not a sign of weakness. True winners are those who embrace peace. If Mojtaba Khamenei says yes to peace today, the world can be at peace,” Oba Akanbi concluded.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.
