Lam-Adesina praised the emergence of new party executives during the exercise, describing it as a strategic move to reposition the APC ahead of the next electoral cycle.
During the congress held on Tuesday, party members elected Moses Adeyemo as the new APC chairman in Oyo State. Adeyemo, an indigene of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area, previously served as deputy governor under the late former governor, Abiola Ajimobi, from 2011 to 2019.
Party stakeholders believe his leadership will further strengthen the APC’s structure in the state as preparations for future elections intensify.
In a statement released on Thursday through his media office, Lam-Adesina said the orderly conduct of the congresses at ward, local government, and state levels reflected unity within the party.
He noted that Adeyemo’s emergence by consensus underscored the harmony among members and positioned the APC for greater electoral success. According to him, the new chairman’s political and administrative experience would play a crucial role in revitalising the party and boosting its prospects in 2027.
“Congratulations to our respected father and the new chairman of the APC in Oyo State. His emergence undoubtedly marks the beginning of a new chapter for the party,” Lam-Adesina said.
“He brings with him years of political and administrative expertise that will guide the party to victory in the coming elections.”
The former lawmaker expressed confidence that the APC would reclaim Oyo State from the opposition in 2027.
“This is the moment to take back the state, and with the new chairman and his executive team, we are fully prepared to achieve that,” he added.
Meanwhile, the APC has released an updated timetable for its nationwide congresses, national convention, and related activities.
According to the schedule signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, appeals from the congresses were slated for hearing on Wednesday, March 4. The sale and submission of forms for the zonal congresses and national convention are scheduled between Thursday, March 13, and Monday, March 16.
The party also fixed Monday, March 23, for the inauguration of screening and appeal committees for the zonal congresses, alongside the conduct of the zonal congresses and the establishment of appeal panels for both the zonal congresses and the national convention.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.
The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.
Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.
He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.
