Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Osinachi Ohale, and forward Chinwendu Ihezuo arrived at the team’s Hilton Hotel base, bringing the squad size to 24. The quartet are set to join their teammates in training later tonight as the team ramps up preparations ahead of the double-header against the Indomitable Lionesses.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and 16 others had already settled in and immediately got to work, holding their first training session at the annex of the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo. The squad is also scheduled to train at the stadium’s main bowl as part of their final preparations.

Saturday’s first friendly against Cameroon will take place at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé, with the second match scheduled for Tuesday. Both encounters are expected to provide a thorough test for the nine-time African champions as they refine tactics and team combinations ahead of next month’s continental tournament.

The matches are part of Nigeria’s buildup to the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Morocco from 17 March to 3 April 2026. The Super Falcons, Africa’s most successful women’s national team with ten titles, will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and debutants Malawi, opening their campaign on 18 March in Casablanca against Malawi.

Cameroon, runners-up in 2016, are drawn in Group D with Ghana, Mali, and Cape Verde, and will begin their tournament against Mali in Fes.

More reinforcements are expected in Yaoundé, including Mexico-based wing-back Chidinma Okeke and experienced midfielder Halimatu Ayinde, as the technical team continues to fine-tune the squad ahead of the friendlies.

He also approved an amendment extending the lifespan of the 2025 budget from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to ensure completion of ongoing capital projects nationwide.

Under the 2026 fiscal plan, ₦4.799 trillion is set aside for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent spending, while ₦32.2 trillion goes to capital projects—about half of the total budget.

The focus, according to the administration, is on infrastructure development, security, and growth-driven investments aimed at improving living standards.
