‘2027 Will Be A Fight Between Tinubu, APC And Nigerians’ – Atiku.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the 2027 general election will be a direct contest between President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Nigerian people.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement titled “2027: It Will Be Tinubu/APC vs Nigerians”, issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku reacted to the defection of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, noting that political realignments are part of the democratic process.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain maintained that every politician has the right to choose their political path, adding that even his children are free to make independent decisions. He said anyone who chooses to stand with Nigerians instead of the APC is acting in the interest of patriotism.

Atiku argued that the recent wave of defections by opposition governors does not reflect the APC’s strength but rather pressure and intimidation. He accused the Tinubu administration of using state institutions to harass political opponents in what he described as an attempt to edge Nigeria toward a one-party state.

“This government fears accountability. It fears credible elections. It fears the people,” he stated.

He further contended that defections cannot erase the economic hardship facing citizens, citing hunger, poverty, insecurity and unemployment as consequences of what he called failed policies.

Atiku cautioned Nigerians against equating political defections with popularity, insisting that while some governors may switch parties for survival, ordinary citizens are focused on their livelihoods.

“What will the APC campaign on in 2027 — hunger, hardship, hopelessness?” he asked.

He urged Nigerians to remember that sovereignty rests with them and warned against selling their votes, expressing confidence that the will of the people would ultimately prevail.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
