Kuye Denies Parading Self As Awujale-Elect.
Prince Ademorin Kuye, a contender for the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland, has insisted that he is not desperate to become the next Awujale.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Kuye, who represents Somolu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, dismissed claims that he has been presenting himself as the Awujale-elect, describing them as baseless and malicious.
The allegations came from some princes and princesses of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode, who accused Kuye of parading himself as the Awujale-elect and of allegedly commissioning a female waka singer to produce a song celebrating his supposed selection.
In a statement signed by Barr. Kunle Johnson Adebajo on behalf of the ruling house, the group called the alleged actions illegal and warned that they could incite unrest in Ijebuland.
“We want to state without equivocation that the action of the said Hon. Kuye is illegal and capable of causing chaos and unrest in Ijebuland,” part of the statement read.
The ruling house also urged the Ogun State Government to intervene and ensure that Kuye and his supporters desist from what they described as unlawful and provocative acts.
In a telephone interview with Vanguard on Sunday, Kuye rejected the allegations, asserting that he had never violated any chieftaincy or customary law.
“I have never been involved in any of their allegations. I am also a member of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. I know nothing about what they are saying,” he said.
The lawmaker, a practising lawyer for 37 years, stressed that he would not engage in any activity that could undermine established succession procedures.
“I am an institutional person. I know what is right, and I will not do anything contrary to the law,” he stated.
Kuye also noted that his family had issued a statement distancing him from the claims and affirming their support for the Ogun State Government’s position.
“The truth is that I am not desperate about becoming the next Awujale. I was never even interested initially. It was my family that obtained the nomination form for me. For over a month, I did not fill it until they completed the process. So how can anyone say I am desperate?” he asked.
Addressing the viral song allegedly praising him as Awujale-elect, Kuye denied commissioning any musician.
“I did not commission any song. I neither saw nor heard it until people began drawing my attention to it. If anyone claims otherwise, let such a person come forward with evidence,” he said.
The federal lawmaker added that his decades of public service—including roles as local government chairman, commissioner, Special Adviser to the Presidency, and now a two-term member of the House of Representatives—reflect his commitment to due process and respect for institutions.

Shehu Sani Jokes PDP Crisis: Makinde, Bala Mohammed Could Face ‘Hourly Loyalty Checks’.
Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has weighed in on the escalating crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joking that the party’s remaining governors may soon have to constantly reassure each other of their loyalty.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sani shared his remark on X on Wednesday, noting that if PDP is eventually left with only two governors—Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed—they might find themselves frequently checking in with one another.
“Now that the PDP has only two governors remaining, the two will have to be calling each other every hour to be sure…with words like ‘I hope we are still together’ or ‘I hope you still dey,’” he wrote.
His comment comes amid rising tensions following a Court of Appeal ruling, which upheld earlier judgments preventing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the results of the party’s disputed national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.
The court found that the convention violated both statutory requirements and the PDP constitution, further deepening divisions within the party.

Speaking during a meeting with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Cubana clarified that the movement is not a political party, but a platform supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“The unique aspect of this movement is that it’s composed mostly of young businessmen, not politicians. Our mission is to uplift our communities by educating and reorienting people about our collective path forward,” he said.
Cubana stressed the importance of unity and constructive engagement with the Federal Government. “We believe in the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As young professionals and successful entrepreneurs, we are letting our people know that we are fully behind the President and his re-election. Igbo voices must be included at the center, and divisive politics should be avoided,” he added.
He highlighted the need for regional development and connection to federal initiatives, noting, “There must be balance and recognition of every region. Our communities need access to infrastructure, gas, and rail systems.”
Cubana further emphasized that meaningful progress requires collaboration with the government. “Opposition without engagement won’t leave a lasting impact. The City Boy Movement stands on Tinubu’s mandate. Our aim is the advancement of Igbo land, and it is our responsibility to educate our people. We are solidly behind Tinubu,” he concluded.
