Garba officially presented his APC membership card, obtained from Lubo Ward in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, to Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Thursday in Gombe.

He described the presentation as a clear demonstration of his full alignment with the ruling party at both the state and national levels. According to him, receiving the APC card signified his complete integration into what he called the progressive fold.

The lawmaker explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with political allies, supporters, and community leaders across his constituency. He cited Governor Yahaya’s focused leadership and people-oriented policies as major reasons for his defection.

Garba commended the administration’s ongoing infrastructure projects, social intervention programmes, and reforms aimed at improving living standards in the state. He also pointed to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as additional motivation for his move.

According to him, the APC offers a credible and development-driven platform capable of ensuring sustainable growth and inclusive governance.

“The APC represents the future of progressive leadership in Nigeria,” Garba said. “I am confident that under Governor Yahaya and President Tinubu, our people will continue to witness meaningful development.”

He stressed that national unity and economic stability require cooperation with the ruling party and pledged his loyalty and full commitment to the APC at all levels. Garba also assured his constituents that his switch would help attract increased federal attention and projects to Yamaltu-Deba.

In response, Governor Yahaya welcomed the lawmaker into the APC and praised his decision, describing it as a strong endorsement of the party’s performance in Gombe State.

The governor said the defection reflects confidence in his administration’s development agenda, which focuses on infrastructure renewal, human capital development, and economic diversification. He added that the APC remains open to individuals committed to unity, progress, and responsible governance, noting that the move would further strengthen the party’s position in the state ahead of future elections.
