FCT Elections: Chairman Usman Says Voters Poised To Support APC.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abdulmalik Usman, has expressed confidence that residents are ready to vote for the party in the upcoming Area Council elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Usman said the February 21, 2026 polls would reflect a departure from the sentiment-driven voting seen in 2022, as voters now appreciate the impact of development projects spearheaded by the APC-led government.
He emphasized that residents are increasingly focused on performance and governance, adding that appeals tied to support for Peter Obi would no longer sway voters in the FCT.
“In the 2022 elections, sentiment played a major role, and some voted against the APC. There was also internal party wrangling, and as everyone knows, the woman elected as senator has not delivered any tangible results. So, using Peter Obi or anyone else to create confusion is no longer relevant,” Usman stated.
He added, “Now, people are ready to vote for APC because of the work being done by President Tinubu and the FCT Minister.”
Usman praised President Bola Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for the visible infrastructural developments across the territory, noting that residents are witnessing tangible improvements in their communities.
“It is not sentiment; it is a fact. Across the FCT, the impact of Minister Wike’s work is evident everywhere,” he said.
He further noted that APC officials in the FCT are aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and urged residents to support the ruling party in the elections.
“Go and support those delivering projects and hope. The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know,” he said.
Usman concluded by urging all FCT residents to turn out in large numbers and vote for APC, insisting, “APC is working, and the results are visible.”
