“Shocking Video: Boko Haram Parades 176 Kidnapped Kwara Residents”.
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have released a harrowing video showing 176 abducted victims, including women, children, and a nursing mother, allegedly kidnapped from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The group, formally known as Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, was seen interrogating the captives in footage obtained by SaharaReporters. In the video, one of the insurgents asked the victims to state where they had been taken. Responding in Hausa, three women, including a nursing mother, confirmed they were abducted from Woro community.
The footage shows dozens of distressed women and children standing in rows, many wearing worn-out clothing, while some children appeared without trousers, reflecting harsh and degrading conditions.
During the parade, one insurgent accused the Kwara State Government of downplaying the abduction, claiming that while officials reported 20 to 30 people kidnapped, 176 victims were actually in their custody. “The Kwara State government lied to Nigeria and to the whole world,” he alleged in the video.
As of this report, the Kwara State Government has not issued an official response to these claims.
The video follows a deadly attack on Woro community on February 4, 2026, when suspected terrorists reportedly carried out a coordinated assault. Residents said dozens were killed, including members of the Emir’s family. Reported victims included two wives of the Emir of Woro, several of his children, the Chief Imam, a school principal, a headmistress, and students returning from school.
The Emir of Woro, Alhaji Saliu Bio Umar, remains missing, raising fears he may have been abducted or killed. His official vehicle was allegedly seized by the attackers and used to transport some of the victims, while his palace was set ablaze. Videos from the aftermath showed destroyed buildings and bodies lying on the ground, as residents mourned the scale of the devastation.
Sources suggest the attackers belong to a Sadiku-led Boko Haram faction with operational ties across the Sahel region. Tensions had reportedly been rising in the months prior, with insurgents allegedly pressuring residents to attend their sermons and adopt extremist teachings. The Emir is said to have resisted these demands and alerted security agencies, an act believed to have provoked the large-scale retaliation.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.
The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.
Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.
He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.
Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.
Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.
In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
The legal notice maintained that the allegations were baseless and intended to damage the reputations of the two entertainers.
