Taking to his verified platform on Sunday as political momentum builds toward the elections, Sowore questioned what Atiku could possibly bring to the table after decades of deep involvement in Nigeria’s political landscape, including his eight years as vice president.

Highlighting the massive financial investments directed into the power sector during Atiku’s time in office alongside former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Sowore pointed out that millions of citizens still suffered through persistent electricity shortages.

He contended that Nigeria must break away from recycling the same political elite who have presided over systemic issues like poverty, insecurity, and corruption, emphasizing the need for entirely new leadership.

Speaking at a National Symposium in Jos on Sunday focused on political participation and social justice, the cleric clarified that his earlier comments—which followed his support for the Muslim-Muslim ticket and his use of the term “infidels”—were not intended to express hatred.

“A lot of people are saying I dislike Christians. I didn’t say I dislike Christians. It is a lie. My remarks were misinterpreted,” Sheikh Jingir asserted. He emphasized that Islamic leadership is rooted in justice, fairness, and promoting peaceful coexistence, citing the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The cleric further warned that Muslims would be held accountable for mistreating non-Muslims. He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governors, and other leaders to govern with equity, urging them not to discriminate against citizens based on religion or political affiliation.

Jingir concluded by affirming that every Nigerian holds the fundamental right to support and vote for any candidate of their choice during elections.
