Wike-Makinde Rift Worsens As Oyo LG Chairman Removes Gbolarumi’s. Loyalists

The ongoing feud between Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, and Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has escalated further.
Reports indicate that both leaders have been clashing over control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), causing factionalisation of the party at federal and state levels.
The conflict intensified when Seun Onifade, Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government under Makinde’s administration, dismissed several officials loyal to former Deputy Governor Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, a key figure in Wike’s faction.
Gbolarumi recently attended a meeting organized by the Wike-led PDP faction in Abuja, prompting Onifade to take action against his supporters at the local government level.

In a letter to Olaniyi Stephen obtained by DAILY POST, Onifade stated that the termination takes immediate effect and instructed the dismissed officials to stop presenting themselves as council officers.
The letter read: “I wish to refer to the above subject and inform you that your appointment as Assistant Secretary in Ibadan North Local Government has been terminated with immediate effect. You are henceforth enjoined to desist from parading yourself as Assistant Secretary in the Local Government.”
