“Mercy Johnson Saved Me From My Ex-Husband’s Threats” – Etinosa Idemudia.

Etinosa explained in an interview with Chude that the harassment began after she discussed her past relationship during a media interview. She said her ex-husband became angry after parts of the interview were taken out of context, leading him to threaten her safety.
Initially, she tried to handle the situation quietly, but as the threats escalated, she took to social media seeking help. Mercy Johnson then intervened, leveraging her military connections to forward the matter to the Chief of Naval Staff. This action involved authorities in Abuja and ensured that her ex-husband could no longer harass her.
Recalling the ordeal, Etinosa said:
“I went for an interview for a film, ‘Stormy Heart’. At the time, I was very green—I didn’t know how to avoid certain questions or redirect them. They asked about love or relationships, and I said one relationship nearly killed me… referring to my ex-husband. The media, however, distorted my words, focusing on marriage instead of the film. My ex-husband called me, threatening that I was trying to ruin his career and demanded that I issue a statement, claiming I was a bitter ex. I asked him, ‘Do you want me to put myself under a box for you?’
“When the threats became too much, I cried out on Instagram. A few people reached out, but I distinctly remember Mercy Johnson. She used her strong military connections to forward the case to the Chief of Naval Staff. Soon after, someone from Abuja contacted me, assuring me that the matter was now being handled and that he would not bother me again.”
Etinosa was previously married to Babatunde Solomon, a military officer, before their marriage ended between 2017 and 2018. She later married Ighorosa, a lawyer based in Benin, but they divorced in 2021 after having their first child.

In an interview with The Shade Room, the Smack That hitmaker claimed that men are not naturally built to be with only one partner, saying it goes against human nature.
According to him, many men are drawn to multiple partners, but what truly matters is self-control and emotional loyalty rather than strict exclusivity.
The businessman also drew a distinction between “commitment” and “faithfulness,” explaining that a man may feel attraction to others but still choose to remain devoted to one partner in practice.
The father of nine said faithfulness is about staying emotionally dedicated to one person despite temptations, while admitting that complete commitment to one partner is, in his view, unrealistic for men.
He said: “We’re not committed. We’re not built to be committed. We’re natural beings by nature, right? Okay. We populate because that’s how God created us to be…”
He added that faithfulness is about choosing one partner despite temptations, while describing commitment as something men often struggle with due to nature.

News reports that the “Mr President” crooner made this known on a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk podcast, where he spoke about his experiences in the industry.
According to him, making conscious music put his life at risk, forcing him to take measures to protect himself, including the use of traditional spiritual practices (juju).
He also revealed that he learned martial arts due to constant threats, claiming that security operatives, OPC members, and area boys often targeted him because of his controversial songs.
African China said he was frequently on the run during his active years, adding that he relied on informants and audience warnings to avoid being attacked during performances.
He maintained that the environment at the time was hostile, and survival in the industry required constant alertness and self-protection.

She made the statement during an interview with Pulse while reacting to ongoing debates about modern relationships being overly transactional.
According to the ‘Bottom Belle’ singer, the concept isn’t new but has evolved over time, becoming more demanding compared to earlier years.
She explained that in the past, simple gestures like buying ice cream or popcorn were enough to impress a woman, but today, expectations have grown significantly due to modern lifestyle and economic realities.
Omawumi also noted that society often exaggerates the transactional nature of relationships by overlooking the role women play in reciprocation. She added that many men who complain about such dynamics often choose partners with expensive tastes.
“Love has always been transactional. Women have always been demanding since the beginning of time. Back then, you could impress your crush with ice cream and popcorn, but now it’s something like an iPhone,” she said.
In a related development, the singer recently spoke about her past relationships with late rapper Dagrin and late producer Dokta Frabz during an interview with Jay On Air.
She described her relationship with Dagrin as purely platonic, noting that they were close and spent time together but were never romantically involved, despite past rumours following their 2009 collaboration, “Thank God.”
However, Omawumi confirmed that she was romantically involved with the late producer Dokta Frabz.
