INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, made the announcement on Thursday in Abuja during the commission’s first regular consultative meeting with political parties for 2026.
Amupitan revealed that the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) were cleared following a thorough evaluation of 171 political associations seeking registration.
He explained that the DLA met all statutory requirements, while the NDC’s approval was granted in compliance with a Federal High Court order.
