Yilwatda Denies Being Considered For Tinubu’s 2027 Running Mate.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has denied reports linking him to President Bola Tinubu’s running mate slot for the 2027 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Yilwatda dismissed the speculation as baseless and misleading.
He also refuted claims that the APC is considering replacing Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing the rumours as “raising dust where there is no dust at all.”
“Not true. Nobody is discussing anything about the vice president’s position,” he said.
The APC chairman explained that discussions regarding a vice-presidential candidate will only occur after the party’s presidential primary.
“The issue of a running mate comes after the primary election. It is only then that the party and the presidential candidate will meet to select and nominate a running mate,” Yilwatda said.
He added that the rumours were being pushed by the opposition to create distractions and reiterated that no such discussions have taken place within the APC.
“I laugh when I hear it. There is nothing like that at all. Nothing has been discussed,” he said.
Yilwatda also reminded that he had previously cautioned APC appointees and elected officials against commenting on vice-presidential matters.
