Omotola Says No To Dancing Just To Promote Her Movie.

Veteran actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has weighed in on the growing trend of using dance to promote movies.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on TVC Entertainment, she said she would not dance to market a film. While Omotola has no problem with dancing for fun or when it feels natural, she stressed that it becomes problematic when it is forced.

“The issue is not dancing itself; it’s the pressure to dance because you have to, not because you want to. I dance, I love to dance, but promoting a movie shouldn’t feel like a chore,” she explained.

She added that backlash against dance-driven promotions often stems from actors being pressured rather than expressing themselves authentically.

Omotola emphasised that her main responsibility as an actor is to deliver strong performances, and that marketing should be left to professionals.

“When it becomes something you must do just to sell a movie, that’s not professional. I’ve already done the project. I can talk about it, promote it, but advertising and distribution are for those whose job it is to handle them,” she said.

Her comments echo those of filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, who recently said he also wouldn’t dance to promote a movie, adding that he would not risk producing a ₦1 billion film if his earnings were only ₦10 million.
