Abia Police Boss Warns Officers Against Social Media Misconduct, Drunkenness.

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Danladi Isa, has urged officers of the command to strictly comply with the laws and regulations guiding the Nigeria Police Force, with particular emphasis on the NPF social media policy.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking at a strategic conference held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Umuahia, the police boss referenced a recent incident in the Delta State Command where a sergeant was demoted for violating the social media guidelines, warning that similar breaches would not be tolerated.

CP Isa also cautioned officers against engaging in political or party activities, stressing that the police must maintain neutrality at all times. He directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to promptly report and brief him on any political-related incidents before taking action.

He further warned against the unlawful detention of suspects, noting that except in capital offences, individuals must not be held longer than legally required.

The Commissioner also frowned at acts of extortion, drunkenness, illegal roadblocks, and unauthorized duties, charging supervising officers to effectively monitor their subordinates to avoid vicarious liability.

Addressing officers of the Inspectorate and rank and file, CP Isa urged them to remain exemplary, professional, and disciplined, and to avoid any behaviour capable of bringing the command into disrepute. He emphasized the need for civility and professionalism in interactions with members of the public, while upholding the integrity and image of the Nigeria Police Force.

He concluded by commending officers of the command for their commitment and performance during the Christmas and New Year festivities, which ensured sustained peace and security across Abia State.
