High Chief Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich, popularly known as Egberipapa, a prominent Niger Delta freedom fighter and political activist, hosted Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, widely called MC Oluomo, National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and other senior leaders of the union at his residence in Usokun community, Degema Local Government Area, on Thursday night.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation among key stakeholders and bolster grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection bid, as well as that of Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
Addressing the gathering, Egberipapa affirmed his and his vast network’s unwavering support for President Tinubu’s second term in 2027. He highlighted the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, praising his youth-oriented, approachable style and consistent engagement with grassroots Nigerians.
“This is the first time we have seen a president’s son so genuinely close and accessible to the people,” Egberipapa said. “His commitment and readiness to engage have strengthened public confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.”
The Niger Delta leader expressed readiness to collaborate closely with national leadership to drive effective grassroots mobilization across Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta, emphasizing the need for coordinated community-level engagement to sustain political momentum.
Egberipapa also commended President Tinubu for his steadfast support of Governor Fubara during challenging periods in Rivers State, crediting the president’s interventions with restoring stability and preventing further disruptions.
Reaffirming his strong partnership with Governor Fubara, Egberipapa vowed to ensure Rivers State delivers solid support “in block” for President Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
In response, MC Oluomo thanked Egberipapa for the warm reception and support for the president’s reelection. He assured that Egberipapa’s requests would be conveyed to the president and promised a more inclusive and harmonious working relationship moving forward.
The visit, led by MC Oluomo, a key political figure in Lagos and staunch Tinubu supporter, is part of broader efforts to align transport unions, regional influencers, and national leadership ahead of the 2027 elections. Given Egberipapa’s strong grassroots influence in Rivers State—Nigeria’s fourth-largest voter population—the meeting signals growing unity among pro-Tinubu forces to strengthen the Renewed Hope Agenda in the South-South.
