His resignation from the Kano State Executive Council under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was announced in a statement on Monday.

Kwankwaso said, “It is with a heavy heart that I resign as Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and as a member of the Kano State Executive Council. I am deeply grateful to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State. I have cherished the experiences and lessons gained and appreciate the trust placed in me.

“As I step down, I pray that the youth of Kano continue to receive the support they deserve. I hope our sports development programs and initiatives will thrive in the years ahead.

“May Allah (SWT) continue to bless our beloved Kano State. I wish the government and people of Kano all the best.”

Naija News reports that his resignation follows Governor Yusuf’s recent defection from the NNPP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
