NABTEB Extends 2026 Technical College Entrance Registration.
The National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) has announced an extension of the registration period for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for technical colleges, aiming to ease pressure on candidates, parents, and schools.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Registrar and CEO of NABTEB, Dr. Aminu Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement issued Sunday in Benin through the board’s Deputy Director, Media and Protocol, Uchechukwu Olisah.
Dr. Mohammed explained that the board approved a four-month registration window to reduce pressure on candidates and families. Registration will begin on January 26 and close on May 24, while the examination is scheduled nationwide for June 6.
The registrar noted that this follows the approval of the 2026 examination and registration framework by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa.
“This extended timeline is a deliberate policy to allow adequate preparation, ease congestion on the registration platform, and reduce financial and logistical burdens on parents and guardians,” he said.
He added that NABTEB had strengthened its administrative and technological systems to ensure a user-friendly, accessible, and disruption-free registration experience.
“NABTEB has put measures in place to guarantee a smooth and stress-free registration process for candidates, parents, guardians, and schools, while maintaining the highest standards of examination integrity,” Mohammed said.
The registrar also urged candidates to register only through NABTEB’s official online portal and warned against the use of unauthorized agents or third-party platforms.
“All applications must be submitted via NABTEB’s official portal. Candidates and guardians are advised to complete registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute challenges,” he added.
Reaffirming NABTEB’s commitment to professionalism and transparency, Mohammed said the board remains focused on expanding access to technical education while safeguarding examination credibility.
He also encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a pathway to employable skills, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance.
“Technical and Vocational Education equips young people with the practical skills required for national development. Nigerians are encouraged to choose skills, embrace opportunities, and secure a bright future,” he said.
Dr. Mohammed concluded that NABTEB will continue collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to strengthen skills-based education and support Nigeria’s human capital development goals.
