Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has dismissed reports of a political alliance involving former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari Ashiru, and opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sani stated that any political arrangement aimed at unseating Governor Uba Sani would fail decisively.

He made the remarks on Monday during a press briefing in Kaduna, insisting that the opposition lacks the grassroots presence and public support needed to challenge the current administration in the state.

According to the former lawmaker, opposition parties in Kaduna have minimal or no influence at the ward and community levels, describing them as political structures that largely exist only on paper.

“There is no political arrangement, whether driven by individuals or parties, that can override the will of the people of Kaduna State,” Sani said.

He added that the alleged ADC–PDP alliance being linked to El-Rufai and Ashiru has no future, noting that it lacks a solid grassroots foundation.

Expressing confidence in Governor Uba Sani’s prospects for a second term, Sani attributed his optimism to what he described as remarkable achievements recorded by the administration in governance, security, infrastructure, and inclusive leadership.

He said the governor has executed infrastructure projects across the state’s three senatorial zones, impacting both rural and urban communities.

“For the first time in many years, Kaduna is experiencing genuine unity between Muslims and Christians,” he said.

Sani also noted that the state has recorded relative improvements in security compared to other North-West states, creating a more favourable environment for development.

Highlighting key initiatives of the administration, he mentioned the proposed $200 million poultry project, the Kaduna Light Rail project, and multi-billion-naira skills acquisition programmes spread across the state.

According to him, the skills acquisition centres are already empowering youths and women, reducing unemployment, and addressing some of the root causes of insecurity.

The former senator further commended the governor’s performance in the health and education sectors, as well as in human capital development, describing the impact as visible and measurable across the state.
