The aggrieved students barricaded the school’s main gate, restricted access to the campus and set tyres on fire while chanting solidarity songs to draw attention to their demands.

They vowed that lectures and examinations would remain on hold until the management addressed what they described as long-standing neglect.

Carrying placards with different messages, the protesters accused the school authorities of failing to provide essential facilities required for proper learning.

They cited the deplorable condition of classrooms, hostels and laboratories, noting that the decay had severely disrupted academic activities.

The students also decried the lack of a reliable water supply on campus, saying it had compounded their academic and welfare challenges.

In addition, some protesters accused the management of collecting what they termed excessive and arbitrary fees despite the poor state of facilities.

They said several appeals to the authorities had produced no results, leaving them with no option but to protest.

“We have made repeated complaints, yet nothing has changed. That is why we are out here,” a student said.

As at the time of filing this report, the management of the Ondo State College of Health Technology had yet to react to the allegations.

Onuachu expressed his belief in the team’s current form and depth. “We have the quality to play against any team in the world and hopefully we are going to show it against Poland and Portugal,” he told the Super Eagles media. While acknowledging the disappointment of missing the World Cup despite their world-class talent, he remains focused on the task ahead.

In squad news, FC Basel winger Philip Otele has joined the team in Warsaw, bringing the roster to 21 players. Otele, who was instrumental in the recent Unity Cup victory over Jamaica, is expected to begin the match on the bench due to his late arrival.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi emphasized that while the coaching staff is focused on long-term development, maintaining the team’s current unbeaten streak—four wins and a draw in their last five games—remains vital. “Of course, it’s about winning, but development also counts. A match against such a top rival as Poland will be a good test for our vision for the future,” Ndidi remarked, as quoted by przegladsportowy.onet.

The match at the PGE Narodowy Stadium is set to kick off at 7:45 p.m. Nigerian time.
