The Special Adviser on Politics to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Munirudeen Raji, has stated that Governor Adeleke’s camp will support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Raji, also a chieftain of the Accord Party in Osun, made the disclosure during a feature on the current affairs programme Lero Temi on Monday in Osogbo.

Acknowledging that the Adeleke political machinery had opposed Tinubu’s presidential ambition in the 2023 election, Raji assured that the President’s victory in 2027 is now certain.

“President Bola Tinubu belongs to all of us. I recently stated that when campaign posters for Governor Adeleke are printed, we will ensure President Tinubu is included so voters know we are also supporting him. We will vote for Governor Adeleke for governor and Bola Tinubu for president,” he said.

Raji further affirmed, “I can guarantee that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election. Even though we opposed him in 2023, we are now fully backing him, and he will emerge victorious.”

He clarified that Governor Adeleke and his appointed officials remain members of the Accord Party, while elected representatives from the state continue to serve under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Raji dismissed claims of a factional split in Osun Accord, attributing such reports to political mischief by opposition parties.

“There is no faction in Osun Accord. This is simply mischief from opposition elements, and INEC has confirmed that there is no split,” he said.

On Governor Adeleke’s prospects for the upcoming August 8 gubernatorial election, Raji expressed confidence in his re-election, citing his popularity among the electorate.

“The people of Osun want Governor Adeleke, and we are confident he will be re-elected. In 2018, he won but was edged out due to an inconclusive election. In 2022, he won convincingly, proving that his leadership—sometimes criticized as just ‘dancing’—has delivered real dividends of democracy to the state,” Raji added.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.

The party further alleged that the move is aimed at distracting attention from governance challenges in the state.
