A member of the House of Representatives and senior APC chieftain in Kano, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that the APC e-registration exercise in Kano be temporarily suspended until Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf officially joins the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a video shared on X by @jrnaib2, Doguwa stated that the President has already accepted Governor Yusuf into the APC.

He said: “What could you do when Tinubu said he has accepted Abba? Tinubu has accepted him (into APC). We were set to start APC e-registration in Kano tomorrow, but the President and the APC national leadership have directed that it should be put on hold.”

Although the timing of Doguwa’s remarks is unclear, they come amid the APC’s ongoing nationwide membership registration.

He added that the party leadership wants Governor Yusuf to be the first to e-register in Kano.

“If we accept the ‘hunch-backed,’ what would he do with me? We could only be patient,” Doguwa remarked.

The comments have sparked reactions on social media, with users expressing differing opinions. One user, @auwal_sls, suggested that Abba is not ready to join the APC, while another, @Teemaah88, warned that Kano State “will lose this election.”

Reports indicate that some of Governor Yusuf’s allies have urged him and his political mentor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to defect to the APC. Some government officials, including Kano’s Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, have defended the calls, arguing that a move to the APC would benefit the state.

However, Kwankwaso has repeatedly rejected the idea, advising the governor that the decision to join the APC must be his own.

There were earlier reports suggesting that Governor Yusuf was expected to defect last Monday, but the move has yet to materialize, as he has remained silent on the matter.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.
