Ebem Ohafia Community Declares Total Ban On Drugs, Cultism, And Gun Violence.
The Ebem Ohafia community in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State has imposed a comprehensive ban on the sale, use, and trafficking of hard drugs, as well as cultism, gun violence, and other criminal activities, with immediate effect.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, the announcement was made by the Ebem Ohafia youths in partnership with the Central Executive Council of the Ebem Ohafia Development Union, and fully endorsed by the Council of Chiefs and Elders. The community has called on all criminal elements using the area as a hideout to vacate immediately, warning that indigenes found harboring offenders will be held accountable.
Ifeanyi Okali, Public Relations Officer of the Ebem Ohafia Development Union, stated that offenders will face strict fines and community disciplinary measures regardless of status. Cultists are being urged to renounce their activities or face prosecution and severe sanctions.
The community also prohibited fighting with weapons, brandishing firearms, and gunfire. Violators will be handed over to security agencies, fined, and subjected to additional community sanctions. Local family heads, Ndi Ikwu, have been tasked with ensuring compliance within their jurisdictions and may face suspension from hosting ceremonies for defaulters.
Traders along Ebem Police Station/Court Road and within the Ebem Daily Market were further instructed not to obstruct gutters, walkways, or public spaces, with violations resulting in immediate impoundment of goods.
