A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has cautioned Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, against attempting to sideline the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, amid their ongoing political disagreement.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, Fayose gave the warning on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television, advising the Rivers governor to embrace humility and reconciliation rather than confrontation. He urged Fubara to draw lessons from the leadership approach of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, whom he described as politically mature and respectful of established structures.

Fayose stressed that political success is often built on collective effort and support, warning against ingratitude toward those who played critical roles in one’s emergence. He noted that leaders must recognise the contributions of others and manage disagreements with wisdom to avoid unnecessary conflict.

Using personal experiences to illustrate his point, Fayose explained that political leadership operates on levels, where respect, capacity and recognition are essential. He insisted that no individual can simply erase the influence of entrenched political figures, declaring that Wike’s place in Rivers politics remains firmly rooted.

The former Ekiti governor further recounted how Governor Oyebanji, despite belonging to a different political party, personally sought his support after assuming office, describing the move as a demonstration of humility and political intelligence. Fayose said such gestures help stabilise governance and reduce tension, urging Fubara to adopt a similar approach in navigating the Rivers political landscape.
