Adeyanju argued that the endorsement of Obi by Tinubu’s supporters reflects a clear apprehension toward a potential Northern presidential candidate, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. He wrote on his social media platform, “Why are all major Tinubu supporters promoting Peter Obi as their man Friday? From Keyamo to Fayose… it appears they want the coalition to present Obi. Their fear of a northern candidate, especially Atiku, is too obvious.”
