AFRIMA 2026: Rema Dominates, Beats Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid To Take Three Major Awards.
Nigerian music sensation Rema emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), following a star-studded ceremony held at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The 24-year-old singer, best known for his global hit Calm Down, took home three major awards: Best Male Artiste in Western Africa, Artiste of the Year, and Best African Artiste, Duo or Group in African RnB/Soul. His victories saw him surpass other Nigerian heavyweights, including Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Asake.
Receiving his awards, Rema expressed appreciation to his fans and the organizers, noting that the support from audiences across Africa and beyond continues to inspire his musical journey.
Other Nigerian artistes also achieved recognition during the ceremony. Grammy Award-winning Burna Boy won Album of the Year, Yemi Alade took Best Soundtrack in a Movie, Series or Documentary for her song You Are from Iyanu: The Animated Series, and rising star Shallipopi earned Best Song of the Year and Best Collaboration for Laho.
The awards also celebrated talent from across Africa, with Tanzanian singer Jux winning Best Male Artiste in Eastern Africa and Congolese singer Cindy Le Coeur recognized for the Democratic Republic of Congo category.
The event featured electrifying performances from notable African artistes and marked the third time Lagos hosted AFRIMA, following previous editions in Ghana and Senegal, further solidifying Nigeria’s role as a hub for the continent’s music and entertainment industry.
