The anti-graft chief insisted that no individual could credibly claim he had received money, gifts, or favours in exchange for influencing official decisions, adding that his record remained clean despite the sensitive nature of his responsibilities. He said his handling of recovered and forfeited assets while serving as EFCC Secretary was carried out strictly within the confines of the law and without personal benefit to himself or his family.

He further stated that Nigerians were free to investigate his financial standing, noting that his wealth, or lack thereof, was not hidden from public scrutiny.
