Under Fire, EFCC Boss Swears He Has Never Benefited From Corruption.
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has openly challenged critics to present verifiable evidence if he has ever engaged in corruption or benefited unlawfully from public office, declaring that he has never taken a single naira in inducement throughout his career.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, Olukoyede made the assertion during a televised interview on Sunday, where he firmly rejected allegations linking him to fraudulent activities or illicit enrichment. He stressed that at no point in his service—whether as Chief of Staff, Secretary of the commission, or its current chairman—had he been involved in any form of corruption.
The anti-graft chief insisted that no individual could credibly claim he had received money, gifts, or favours in exchange for influencing official decisions, adding that his record remained clean despite the sensitive nature of his responsibilities. He said his handling of recovered and forfeited assets while serving as EFCC Secretary was carried out strictly within the confines of the law and without personal benefit to himself or his family.
Olukoyede maintained that none of the assets managed or disposed of by the commission could be traced to him, describing allegations of improper attachment of assets as baseless and misleading. He further stated that Nigerians were free to investigate his financial standing, noting that his wealth, or lack thereof, was not hidden from public scrutiny.
He also disclosed that he complied with asset declaration requirements at every stage of his public service and extended the same obligation to EFCC staff under his leadership. According to him, these declarations remain verifiable and reflect his commitment to transparency and accountability.
Reaffirming his position, the EFCC chairman urged anyone who had ever offered him a bribe or witnessed him accept one to come forward publicly, stressing that his actions have always been guided by diligence, loyalty to duty and adherence to the commission’s mandate.
