According to Nivo News, the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, sitting in Abuja, has restrained the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and its members from proceeding with a strike scheduled to begin on January 12.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The order was issued by Justice Emmanuel Subilim on Friday following an urgent application by the Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation. The court case is listed as NICN/ABJ/06/2026.

The ruling came after hearing arguments from Mrs. Maimuna Lami Shiru, Director of Civil Litigation at the Federal Ministry of Justice, who appeared alongside a team of government lawyers. The legal team requested that the strike be suspended until the main case against the association is fully adjudicated.

Those named in the suit include the National Association of Resident Doctors, its National President, Dr. Mohammad Usman Suleman, and its Secretary General, Dr. Shuaibu Ibrahim. The court order now legally bars the resident doctors from commencing their planned industrial action until the matter is resolved.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian medical community continues to grapple with the recent tragic death of consultant neuro-psychiatrist Andrew Orovwigho of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) in Enugu. Orovwigho was abducted on December 30, 2025, in front of his home, shot by unknown assailants, and subsequently released on January 1, 2026, only to be attacked again and left abandoned by the roadside. The incident has intensified concerns over the safety and security of medical professionals in the country.

Breaking Silence: Former Head Of State Drops Bombshell Revelations On MKO Abiola’s Mysterious Death!.

In his highly anticipated autobiography, former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), has provided unprecedented insights into the 1998 death of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, the presumed winner of the 1993 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A significant revelation within the book indicates that American officials, present when Abiola died during a meeting in Abuja, were initially denied access to him after the incident. General Abdulsalami notes that a U.S. delegation, led by Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Tom Pickering and including Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Susan Rice, was in Nigeria to assess the political situation following the death of General Sani Abacha. After the delegation complained that their initial request to see Abiola had been denied, Abdulsalami ordered his Chief Security Officer (CSO), Abdulrasheed Aliyu, to arrange the meeting. According to Abdulsalami’s account, Abiola became restless and started coughing and sweating during this meeting, subsequently dying at the State House Clinic.

Addressing Poisoning Allegations and Conspiracy Theories

The death of MKO Abiola, occurring just one month after the sudden death of former military ruler General Sani Abacha, who had detained Abiola since 1994, triggered widespread unrest and speculation that he may have been poisoned. General Abdulsalami’s autobiography explicitly addresses and refutes these poisoning rumors, which he describes as “cock and bull stories” amplified after his time in office.

For the sake of transparency, an autopsy was conducted by a team of American, British, Canadian, and Nigerian pathologists. This report attributed Abiola’s death to natural causes, specifically severe long-standing heart disease resulting from hypertension.
