The clarification was issued on Thursday through a statement released by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, following widespread speculation about an alleged rift between the two leaders.

The statement noted that Governor Sanwo-Olu had been made aware of the reports and categorically dismissed them, stressing that the claims do not reflect the reality of the relationship between both governors.

According to the Lagos State Government, Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun maintain a warm, cordial, and brotherly relationship, marked by regular meetings and constant communication on issues of shared concern, particularly those affecting the development of their respective states.

It further explained that the bond between both leaders is reinforced by the long-standing geographical, socio-cultural, and economic ties between Lagos and Ogun states, which share a common boundary and interconnected interests.

The government warned against the deliberate spread of misinformation aimed at sowing discord, urging purveyors of fake news to desist, while reaffirming that both governors remain united by a shared vision to enhance governance, welfare, and quality of life for their citizens.
