The invitation follows a series of videos Onajobi shared on her social media platforms criticizing the governor. The clips referenced a December 2025 road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway involving Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua, which resulted in the deaths of two of Joshua’s associates. In the videos, Onajobi accused the Ogun State government of neglecting the victims and claimed that Lagos State officials had to intervene. She further criticized the state’s emergency response system, alleging the absence of ambulances despite hundreds of handled emergencies.
Beyond the accident, Onajobi made personal allegations against Governor Abiodun, including claims related to the misuse of public funds, unlawful acquisition of properties, and issues concerning his private life. Authorities say these statements prompted the police invitation as part of an ongoing review of the matter. The police confirmed that further actions would follow based on developments and Onajobi’s response to the invitation.
