FG Denies Abandoning Nigerian Scholarship Students In Morocco, Calls Reports False.
The Federal Government has dismissed claims that Nigerian scholarship students in Morocco have been neglected, describing such reports as false, misleading, and deliberately fabricated. According to Nivo News, the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, through the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Boriowo Folasade, confirmed that all valid scholarship beneficiaries remain fully supported by the government.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Alausa emphasized that no Nigerian student on a valid federal scholarship has been abandoned. Students enrolled under the Bilateral Education Scholarship Programme prior to 2024 have received funding in line with the 2024 budget, consistent with government obligations. The minister noted that any payment delays are attributable to fiscal constraints, but assured that discussions between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance are ongoing to resolve the issue.
The minister also refuted reports suggesting new bilateral scholarships were awarded in October 2025 or later, describing the documents cited as fake and unauthenticated. Alausa explained that the government’s decision to discontinue certain overseas scholarships followed a comprehensive policy review, which concluded that Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education now possess sufficient capacity to provide these programs domestically.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian students, Alausa urged the public to disregard misinformation and attempts to undermine policies aimed at strengthening national educational capacity. He added that the reforms are designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public resources.
